Ojeda and Luchitti reunite for third season in GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS

GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS race winners Jayden Ojeda and Paul Lucchitti will continue to drive together in 2026, with the pair locked in for a full season.

Having raced together for a few seasons now, the pair will remain with Tigani Motorsport and continue piloting the Mercedes-AMG GT3 that has seen them experience plenty of success in the series.

First racing together in GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS in 2024, Ojeda and Lucchitti have gone on to produce a number of solid results in that time, with six podiums and two wins across the past two seasons seeing them finish seventh in their first year and third last year.

Of their two victories in the series, their 2024 win proved the more prolific, with Lucchitti and Ojeda crossing the line first in the Endurance Cup race at Sydney Motorsport Park, earning them a runner-up finish in the standings.

Since entering the GT scene more or less full time in 2023, Ojeda has become one of the leading GT drivers in the country, having raced at events around the region and cementing his place as an official Mercedes-AMG Junior Driver.

In the last two years alone, Ojeda has raced in Asian Le Mans, GT World Challenge Asia and GT World Challenge America, while also competing in popular endurance races such as the Gulf 12 Hour and the Bathurst 12 Hour.

Outside of a GT car, Ojeda first truly burst onto the scene in 2018 when he dominated the Australian Formula 4 Championship with 14 wins, before finishing second only to Broc Feeney in the 2019 Super3 Series after scoring four wins.

Appearances in Australian Production Cars, Super2, Australian Formula Ford and the TGRA GR Cup featured in the following years, with Ojeda also scoring a famous Bathurst 6 Hour victory in 2023.

As for Lucchitti, he first got behind the wheel of a GT race car in 2023 when he ran with Tigani Motorsport in the Trophy Series in an Audi R8 LMS Evo II.

Picking up one win and a further seven podiums, as well as three pole positions and a fastest lap, Lucchitti went on to finish second in class.

He then joined Ojeda for the 2024 season, where he continues to develop under the stewardship of Nathan Tigani.

Ojeda and Lucchitti continue their third season together at the 2026 season-opening LIQUI MOLY GT Festival Phillip Island at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on 27-29 March.

“It’s great to be returning to GT World Challenge Australia in 2026 with Paul and the Tigani Motorsport team. I’ve really enjoyed the past couple of seasons together and I’m looking forward to continuing that relationship and pushing for even better results this year,” Ojeda said.

“Paul’s development as a driver has been fantastic to watch. He’s come a long way in a short time and it’s been rewarding to be part of that journey. I’m excited to see how much further he can progress this season.”

“I’ve got a very busy calendar across multiple championships this year, including Supercars, and that suits me. I tend to perform my best when I’m racing regularly, so having plenty of seat time throughout the season is something I’m really looking forward to.”

“It’s also been impressive to see Tigani Motorsport grow into the team it is today. Their first Pro-Am entry with Mercedes-AMG at the Bathurst 12 Hour and expanding the parts business in Australia are huge achievements.”
